A woman in a black witch hat scooped up a little boy. She looked right into our camera and screamed with joy. He held on tight.
That was the first ten minutes of Broomstick Ball.
Fright Academy, year after year
Every fall, The Children's Museum Guild turns the museum into a haunted house. It has been going since 1964. Each year has a new theme. This year it was Fright Academy, presented by PNC. The man who designs the haunted house every year even stopped by our booth. He was great.
We have been part of this event for years. We design the overlays for the museum's events, and this year's green-and-orange "Fright Academy" frame was ours.
We ran our overhead 360 video booth on three nights.
Night 1: Broomstick Ball (October 2)
This was the grown-up night. Guests came in costume and danced on the 360 platform. There were witches and wizards. There was a woman in a red devil dress. There was a man in a firefighter hat who photobombed the whole thing.
Kids came too. A girl in a blue wig. A little girl in a Dorothy dress and giant red sunglasses. A boy in a tall, goofy hat.
Night 2: Member Preview (October 3)
On Saturday, museum members got the first look at the haunted house. This was the family night. Princesses grabbed toy microphones and sang to the camera. A dad in a glow-in-the-dark skeleton suit carried a toddler dressed as Gizmo. Grown-ups in fairy wings danced harder than the kids.
Night 3: Twilight Fright (October 24)
This night was for teenagers. The booth moved outside under a tent with string lights. Teens and adults spun on the platform under the disco lights while the camera circled overhead.
How the 360 booth works
Guests step onto the platform. The camera spins around them. Their slow-motion video lands on their phone before they leave. No app. No wait. We add a custom overlay to every video, so each guest leaves with something that looks like the event.
The moments we loved
- The witch hat scream. Pure joy, caught from above.
- The toy microphones. Two girls in princess dresses sang like they were on a stage.
- The photobomb. A firefighter hat peeking over a girl in a blue wig.
- The wizards. A man in a long gray beard and a woman in a witch hat posed like they ran the school.

Planning a school, museum, or community event?
If your event has a theme, we can build the overlay and the experience around it. We have done it for the museum for years. Branded frames, instant sharing, and a trained attendant come with every booking.
